Our Occupational Therapy team is dedicated to helping children develop the skills necessary for everyday tasks, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall quality of life. With a personalized approach, our therapists work closely with each child to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and coordination. By using play-based techniques and evidence-based practices, we create a supportive and engaging environment where children can thrive and build the confidence to succeed in both home and school settings.

Joan graduated from the Medical College of Georgia and started Rainbow Rehab in 2004.

Libby graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina and has been practicing at Rainbow Rehab since 2009.
Meet the Physical Therapy Team
The Physical Therapy team is committed to helping children build strength, improve mobility, and enhance coordination, all while supporting their overall physical development. Our skilled therapists work closely with each child to address challenges related to movement, balance, posture, and gross motor skills. Using a combination of fun, evidence-based activities and tailored therapeutic exercises, we create a safe and motivating environment where children can progress at their own pace.

Meet the Speech Team
Our Speech Therapy team is dedicated to helping children develop effective communication skills, whether it’s through speech, language, or social interaction. Our experienced therapists work one-on-one with each child to address a wide range of challenges, including speech clarity, language comprehension, articulation, social communication, and feeding and swallowing difficulties. By using individualized strategies and engaging activities, we create a supportive and encouraging environment where children can express themselves confidently and meaningfully.

Meet the ABA Team
Our ABA Therapy team is dedicated to helping children develop essential skills through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), a proven, research-based approach. Our team of experienced therapists works closely with each child to address a wide range of behaviors, focusing on building communication, social skills, daily living tasks, and self-regulation. Through individualized programs and positive reinforcement strategies, we create a supportive, structured environment where children can learn at their own pace and make meaningful progress. Our goal is to help children achieve their fullest potential by fostering independence, enhancing their quality of life, and supporting families every step of the way.

Alisa Newsome, MSW, BCBA, CADC-II, MATS, graduated cum laude from LSU with a master’s in social work in 2020 while working as an RBT. Completed BCBA Master’s Level Certificate at Capella University in 2022 while setting up the ABA Program at Rainbow and continuing to work as an RBT.
